    Dear Lord,

    Help me not to overwhelm my children with unrealistic expectations.

    Remind me discipline is for their good – and to always administer it in love – not in anger or purely emotion.

    Keep me from dumping my adult problems on them, while helping me be transparent enough for them to learn from my mistakes.

    Help me to remember my children’s current age – and respond to them accordingly.

    Grant me teachable moments and prompt me to use them to impart uncompromising truth into their life.

    Allow me to see my children as the individuals you created them to be and help me encourage them to thrive in your purpose for their life.

    Let them see our home as a safe, fun, welcoming environment.

    Continually remind me time paces quickly and to embrace and enjoy each season.

    Keep building my character so my children have a model to follow.

    Above all – let my children know and experience unconditional love.

    In Jesus name,

    In Judea over 2,000 years ago, the world bore witness to both the single most horrific act in human history and the most incredible miracle within 72 hours. Men and women in Jerusalem watched, even if they did not know it, as humans laid hands on none other than God Himself and nailed Him to a cross. Three days later, women discovered that He had risen again. In doing so, He saved us all from sin and Satan. He faced down one of the most torturous deaths ever conceived for us, for sinners, for those that killed Him. When He was crucified, Jesus' death made the Kingdom of God available to His children again. In order to once again restore to them the life with God they had lost, Christ was nailed to a cross and died willingly. Christians, however, sometimes forget exactly why Jesus died. The miracle is so all-encompassing that we believe it covers things that had nothing to do with Jesus' crucifixion, but we can’t force our own willful desires as a substitution for God’s purpose and plan. Here are six things Christians can be certain Jesus did not go to the cross for.

    Almighty God, We bless you for our lives, we give you praise for your abundant mercy and grace we receive. We thank you for your faithfulness even though we are not that faithful to you. Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around peace in our mind, body, soul and spirit. We want you to heal and remove everything that is causing stress, grief, and sorrow in our lives.
    Please guide our path through life and make our enemies be at peace with us. Let your peace reign in our family, at our place of work, businesses and everything we lay our hands on.

    Let your angels of peace go ahead of us when we go out and stay by our side when we return. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    I am weary and don’t know when this “race” will end in my life. I feel like I’ve been running forever, trying to outrun this trial. Help me to stop trying to outrun my pain but rather run with endurance the race you have set before me. I know that because of you I am ultimately a victor over the trials in my life. I know that nothing in this world can separate me from your steadfast love. Please give me a measure of your love today; give me the strength to endure this trial. Thank you for your love for me that never ends! And thank you for the crown of joy that awaits me forever in your Kingdom!

    Lord, help me to hear you saying, "I am your hope" over all the other voices. Lord, your word says, you are the hope for hopeless so I'm running to you with both hands stretched out and grabbing on to you. Fill me up with hope and give me a tangible reminder today that hope is an unbreakable spiritual lifeline (Hebrews 6:19-20). God, you know those things in my heart that I barely dare to hope for, today I give them to you, I trust them to you, and ask that you because I know that you can do more than I could ever guess, imagine or request in wildest dreams (Eph 3:20). God, you are my hope and I trust you.
    Amen. -

    I got up early one morning
    And rushed right into the day;
    I had so much to accomplish
    That I didn't have time to pray.
    Problems just tumbled about me,
    And heavier came each task;
    'Why doesn't God help me?' I wondered.
    He answered, 'You didn't ask.'
    I wanted to see joy and beauty
    But the day toiled on gray and bleak
    I wondered why God didn't show me
    He said, 'But you didn't seek',
    I tried to come into God's presence;
    I used all my keys in the lock.
    God gently and lovingly chided,
    'My child, you didn't knock.'
    I woke up early this morning,
    And paused before entering the day;
    I had so much to accomplish
    That I had to take time to pray.
