Dubai International Airport wished to introduce the DXB Connect card to the world and Global Event Management’s solution was to produce the most successful flash mob ever to perform in the Middle East.

With an extensive social media program attached to the proposition the GEM social media marketing team managed to gather over 1 million hits within three weeks of the video being uploaded onto YouTube. To date the video has now been viewed by over 3.5 million people across the globe. The project won the prestigious best use of social media at the Travel + Leisure Social Media in Travel & Tourism Awards in New York.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the results and winning this prestigious award, especially because it is one of the very few that recognises creative and effective campaigns involving the emerging media,” Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports.
